In 1989 the naked NSR 125F carried on unchanged from its 1988 debut, now joined by the fully faired NSR 125R. It competed with the Aprilia AF1, Cagiva Freccia and Gilera KK in Italy's fiercely contested sporting 125 class, appealing with its exposed aluminium frame, strong brakes and easy-going ergonomics.
